Weight-Loss Rules to Rethink

The holiday season is quickly upon us, all the holiday parties, and festivities that make this season so special. Has anyone thought about losing extra lbs. so after the holiday season is behind us, we are not agonizing over how much weight we gained? Every year millions of Americans think about another New Year's resolution, "I want to lose weight this year," but how many people jump off the wagon by Valentine's Day?

I know I have finally looked at my weight loss situation, and finally got the hang of it, and my New Year's resolution will not be to lose weight this year. At the end of this blog I will show you products that have made a huge difference in my life. I lost 26 lbs with this product and I know you can too.

Let’s see now. Are carbs the source of all dietary evil - or is it fat? Is dairy supposed to be good for weight loss these days, or bad? Is protein’s day in the sun over, or just beginning? And should you be eating and exercising according to your blood type or your Ayurvedic dosha, or just strictly counting calories?

If you feel confused or clueless, it’s no wonder. Every season brings a new weight-loss trend. Infomercials on diet supplements and exercise gadgets promise to help shed unwanted pounds, and we’re bombarded daily with diet and exercise tips - from folk wisdom to the latest medical research - which often seem contradictory or incomplete. With so much weight-loss advice to wade through, many folks simply throw up their hands in despair and decide that they might as well sit on the couch and eat whatever they like.

No surprise, then, that we just keep getting fatter: Nearly 65 percent of Americans are either overweight or obese. And the more obese our nation becomes, the greater our collective risk for many deadly and costly diseases, including type two diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and breast, colon and prostate cancers - to name just a few.

That’s the bad news. The good news is that we are not powerless. We needn’t let our lack of knowledge about nutrition and fitness prevail over our common sense and our desire to live healthy, happy lives. We do, however, need to rethink what we think we know about dropping pounds and keeping them off.

For starters, we can forget about finding instant fixes and miracle cures for what are essentially pathological lifestyle habits. “We must stop falling for the myths that keep us fat and perpetuate an endless cycle of weight loss and gain,” says Mark Hyman, MD, former long-time co-medical director at Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires, and current editor in chief of the journal Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine.

As much as we all might like the idea of a “magic bullet,” most experts agree with Hyman that healthy, sustainable weight loss doesn’t come from extreme measures or single-faceted diets. Nor does it come from relying on heavily marketed low-fat or low-carb foods and diet drinks (which, in fact, have been shown to hinder weight-loss efforts by messing up metabolism, contributing to cravings and undermining energy levels).

If you really want to lose excess weight and keep it off (or if you just want to maintain your current weight and stay healthy for the long haul), start by putting aside any worries about your love handles or saddlebags. Instead, start focusing on the space between your ears. Any weight-loss misconceptions or misinformation harbored there could present a real danger to your weight-management success.

Menopause and Weight Loss

Since embarking on this new way of life , I have lost 13lbs. of menopausal weight

and it is so easy to incorporate it, into a healthy lifestyle.

I had to share this webpost with you to see for yourself. HERE: http://raw-radiance.blogspot.com

GREEN JUICE FOR WEIGHT LOSS!

To date I have lost nearly 40 lbs. incorporating raw foods into my diet.

and aside from the obvious. like exercising and eliminating junk food,

the single most important factor that has made all the difference in

helping me slim down is JUICING.

I have noticed that a green juice first thing in the morning kicks my

metabolism into gear and keeps my cravings under control

throughout the day. Plus, juicing is very hydrating for the skin which

has given me a lovely natural glow!

And because juicing separates the fiber, I like to use fruits/vegetables

that are low on the glycemic index. This way the juice won't spike up

my blood sugar since it's absorbed directly into the bloodstream. So

make sure to drink your green juice on an empty stomach for instant

absorption.

Fiber slows the rate of absorption which has a lesser effect on

blood sugar levels.

I also like to make a green smoothie right after a workout.

I find that flooding my body with hydrating nutrients helps

with recovery between workouts and keeps me from getting

sore.

JUICE OF RADIANCE:

1 Kale Leaf - Large

1 Collar Leaf - Large

1 Celery Stick

1 Apple

1/2 Cucumber

1/2 Carrot

1/2 Lemon peeled

This juice is absoluting wonderful and refreshing! Not only is it healthy and

loaded with nutrients, it is also hydrating, alkalizing, and it is mighty tasty.

Plus, it is great for those who are just starting out and still need to get

accustomed to the taste of greens. Once you feel comfortable you can

always add more greens or cut back on the apple.

HERE ARE SOME ADDITIONAL TIPS FOR EFFECTIVE WEIGHT

LOSS THAT HAVE SIGNIFICANTLY HELPED ME SLIM DOWN!

1. Drink a tall glass of water first thing in the morning with a squirt of'

l lemon.

2. Make a low-glycemic green juice, try the Juice of Radiance recipe

above.

3. Have a green smoothie with fresh leafy greens and fruits, plus

1/2 TBSP. of green superfood blend.

4. Try not to mix fats in recipes like nuts and seeds, avocados, and oils.

Keep one fat ingredient per recipe.

5 .Take a digestive enzyme with every meal for optimal digestion.

6. No food two hours before bed, brushing teeth right after dinner helps.

7. Exercise at least 45 minutes, five days a week (walks, yoga, weights, etc)

As you see implementing this recommendation into your life certainly helps,

you shed weight, helps you sleep better, cuts down on the amount of hot

flashes and night sweats associated with menopause.

I have added a tremendous amount of raw veggies into my diet, and I think that

is the key to giving your body what it needs to overcome menopausal

symptoms. Just because woman experience a change in life it does

not necessarily mean the best years of our lives are behind us, when

indeed the best years are ahead of us.
