I decided to dig down deep into my bag of tricks for getting leads for free and out popped one of my favorite strategies. It's a simple strategy, but rarely thought of, if at all, by most people. It's called The Library Drop-Off technique.
I learned this technique from my mentor and coach Cedrick Harris who is a master of creative marketing ideas. The competitive edge that you have on your competition is thinking outside the box and implementing strategies that escape the mind of most people. This is one of those techniques.
Here's how it works:
1. Purchase a few popular books (i.e. Rich Dad Poor Dad, The Secret, etc.) from a discount supplier or online used book store. A good way to choose your books is to look at the current New York Times Best Seller's list and choose from there. Capitalize on the popularity of these hot titles.
2. Go to the local office supply store and purchase a customized rubber stamp that says, "For Business Opportunities In The (Your City Here) Area, Contact (Your Name Here) At (Your Number Or Website Here)".
3. Stamp this information NO MORE than 4-5 times throughout the book. Once in the front, a couple of times in the middle, and once in the back.
4. Donate this book to the local library.
Talk about residual marketing! Now, you have advertising in the marketplace that will last forever and it only cost you a few dollars to purchase a few books and a rubber stamp. How many libraries are there in your city and surrounding suburbs? You will get contacted by very high quality people by utilizing this technique.
That's today's "secret" marketing tip. Go out and apply it today.
